Dear Artist and Creatives,
Happy New Year! I wanted to set aside the usual editing and polishing, and let you know what to expect from The Flyover State Creative Guide in 2025.
First, a quick wrap on 2024
I was so happy to get this blog off the ground last year. No one ever tells you how difficult it is to settle on a perfect theme and platform for a project like this (thank you WordPress.org for being free and open-source). Once I had this blog up, it was a blast to write about visiting creative places around the Midwest
Unfortunately, I did not meet my 2024 goal last year to publish a new blog post every month. I was going strong until August when I got the double-whammy of spraining my ankle and catching covid. In September, I got engaged to my wonderful partner, and the time after that has been spent on wedding planning and spending time with friends and family.
To keep the end of the year from being an absolute wash art-wise, I spent September through December working on improving my skills with watercolor painting and videos about the topic. If you’ve been curious about watercolor painting, I can’t recommend these Youtube channels enough!
Hello 2025!
In 2025, you can count on more posts about creative places in the Midwest. Here’s a short list of resolutions for the Flyover State Creative Guide:
- Continue with my goal to publish one blog per month. This includes a small backlog of places I visited last year and created outlines for, but have yet to publish.
- Create a new page on this site with a visual map that displays all the places the blog posts talk about.
- Give Bella CozyCow’s design a little refresh.
Thanks for reading!
Wishing you all the best in you 2025 art endeavors!!
