Music has a profound impact on humanity. In these paintings, I focused on expressing the power of music and nostalgia.
100-Acre Troublemakers Series
In 2022 and 2024 the iconic characters from the 100 acre woods entered the public domain. This is a small series of artwork painted to depict modern versions of the classic characters from the books.
Organic Lines & Florals (Postcards)
These are hand painted postcards that combine the delicate lines of organic forms with bold watercolors. The entire collection is created with watercolor and ink on 4×6 paper, made in 2019.
About me
I started Flyover State Creative as a way to share both my artwork and blog about the creative places and happenings in Minnesota and beyond.
My Artistic Process
It all starts with a spark of inspiration and a good reference photo (I use my own photos whenever I can). Then I plan out the piece using paints and colored pencils to capture the spirit of the subject. Sometimes, the drawing or painting is already finished after this stage.
In most of my artwork I take it step further and compose line-work, collage and other elements as a twist on the original painting. The final piece is a combination of semi-realism with graphical elements that aims to evoke a sense of joy and connection with nature.

How do I purchase artwork?
I sell my artwork at art fairs or private sale most of the year. During the holiday season I open up an online shop with original artwork, prints and stickers for sale.
