The Author

A local creative on a mission

My name is Kate. I’m a born and raised Minnesotan. Growing up in a place often called a ‘flyover state’, I heard a lot about artists and creative destinations on the coasts. When I became an adult and started traveling, I realized that creative places can be found, or (even better) made anywhere.

My mission with this blog is to share my experience as an artist living in a ‘flyover state’. Join me and together we’ll make artwork and explore creative places around the Midwest!

My background

Art has been a major inspiration and motivator for me since I was small. It inspired me to get my degree in Web Design and pursue a full time career in Website Development and Marketing.

I wouldn’t find myself were I am today if I hadn’t been exposed to art at an early age, whether it be through field trips to the museum or art exhibits at The State Fair. I hope Flyover State Creative helps you find your own inspiration to keep learning about art and connecting with other artists in your own community.
